Simon - Garbally's Junior Master Chef
Simon Sekula, a first year Food Appreciation student represented St. Joseph’s college, Garbally in one of the fastest growing cookery competitions in the country, “The Junior Master Chef”. Simon was selected from hundred’s of entries to compete in the final which was held in St. Angela’s College, Loughgill, Co. Sligo.
Simon was one of 26 finalists chosen to cook a three course meal in front of a panel of judges, one of which was renowned celebrity chef Neven Maguire. Simon’s dishes included pan-fried black pudding and scallops served with green salad, fillet of Salmon served with wilted greens, white sauce and boiled potatoes and for dessert an Apple puree.
Simon was one of the youngest competitors in the competition, competing against those with year’s experience. Simon displayed an excellent performance and made all those at Garbally very proud.
